We're committed to creating a yoga studio that reflects our community. Your voice matters, and we'd love to hear your thoughts! Please take a moment to share your insights in our quick survey.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
The ability to gather, practice, learn, and establish our presence as a yoga studio came at a great expense to the original inhabitants of this land, the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe (mah-wek-mah ah-lone-ee).
We would like to acknowledge that Bloom Yoga Collective sits on the occupied and the traditional lands of the Muwekma Ohlone people, and we pay respect to elders both past and present.
Long before Bloom Yoga Collective was established, this area was home to the Ohlone. The Ohlone still have a presence today, in San Leandro and throughout the Bay Area.
The present-day Muwekma Ohlone Tribe is comprised of all of the known surviving American Indian lineages aboriginal to the San Francisco Bay region and who were also members of the historic Federally Recognized Verona Band of Alameda County. The aboriginal homeland of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe includes the counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, most of Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, and portions of Napa, Santa Cruz, Solano, and San Joaquin.
Let us acknowledge with respect and reverence the Muwekma Ohlone People, who have stewarded this land throughout the generations, while not forgetting the history of colonization of this land.
Bloom Yoga Collective is located in the former home of Square One Yoga in San Leandro. We are eager to continue to serve the needs of the community that flourished in this space and grow with your input and support.
Bloom Yoga Collective is a mission-driven business, committed to disrupting systems of oppression and nurturing a brave space for our diverse and intergenerational community members, making yoga accessible to the entire community by supporting all community members regardless of age, ethnicity, gender expression, body shape, and ability, offering work-trade scholarships, and a commitment to maintain a trauma-informed, healthy, and unpretentious community.
Drop by to say hi, learn more about our vision, and share your ideas.
We're excited to continue this journey with your support!
